The vast majority of images on show here at the moment were taken by James Shivas, Peterhead photographer, and they represent a large portion of the ‘Peterhead Collection’.
They have been scanned in from the original glass plates and these negatives, approximetly 800 of them represent perhaps 1% of the total photographic collection of Aberdeenshire Councils Museums Service.
More of the ‘Peterhead Collection’ plus many more from our other collections will be added over the coming years.
Aberdeenshire Councils Museums Service looks after and cares for the Councils collections. We have in the region of 40,000 photographic images from the birth of Photography to the 1970s and beyond.
This is just a small selection of images from our archives and we hope that it will be added to continually over the coming years.
We can supply prints from A5 (6X8 inches) in size to A3 (11X16 inches). All prints are taken off the master digital file and are printed using photo quality inkjet printers and paper. The images are printed in their entirety and no cropping will be done unless requested in any further correspondence with the service.
